The information gathered on this website was graciously provided by Local and State Fish & Wildlife Associations, Fisheries Divisions, Parks & Recreation Departments, Chambers of Commerce and other reliable resources.
Although some agencies do not regulate every ice fishing event that occurs in any given state,
the complete list of tournaments/derbys taking place within your state may not be listed for
this reason. You may fill out a Derby Submission Form to include your derby in your state's list.

As with all Organizations, Groups and Non-Profits, these entities constantly seek funding for their cause which, in return, tremendously benefits individuals either directly or indirectly and has some positive impact in our communities.
IceFishingDerbys.com shares these efforts as this website is built on a database of nationwide ice fishing events which is very time consuming to research this information and tedious (for information accuracy) to ensure that all data and information either gathered or provided, is as accurate and up-to-date as possible.
The people who provide you with this information from IceFishingDerbys.com are not compensated in any way and volunteer their efforts to contribute to this website - bringing you the most convenient and comprehensive list of ice fishing derbys for your state!
Although these efforts are graciously provided, there is a cost associated with this website to ensure its functionality and dependability such as hosting fees, software, data research, database maintenance and daily website administration.
We are very thankful for all funding provided to IceFishingDerbys.com to keep us going! What purpose does IceFishingDerbys.com serve? IceFishingDerbys.com provides anglers the most comprehensive list of ice fishing derbys, tournaments and events for the state which they are interested fishing in.
What if I don't see the derby I want to fish? You have 2 options - You can ask the derby coordinator to submit that event to us or if you have all the necessary information, you may use our Online Form to submit that event to be listed. It is possible that the derby has been cancelled and was removed from our list. Please check with the derby coordinator for more information.
What if a derby has been postponed or cancelled? IceFishingDerbys.com only maintains the list of events for every state that hosts these events and can only update any derby we have listed if we are informed of any cancellation or postponement. We can be notified of any derby changes via email at webmaster@icefishingderbys.com and we will update this information as quickly as time permits.
I want to add more information, but I don't see the fields on my state page to do this - what can I do? You may submit as much information as you have available, but since every state varies with the information provided, some fields are left blank and other fields require information. We strongly recommend providing a link to your website for interested contestants to learn more about the derby being hosted.
Can I advertise my ice fishing derby on your site? You have the option of advertising/promoting your derby with our "Featured Derby" section we have on all the state pages. For a small fee, you can provide us a single image (usually jpeg format) or you have the option of sending us HTML code. You may email bruce@icefishingderbys.com with your interest and information will be sent to you. This is a great feature that IceFishingDerbys.com provides to possibly increase revenue for your event by attracting more contestants with this type of advertising and event exposure*.
How often are derby lists updated? Any/all derby submissions are updated in less than 24 hours (usually within the first few hours after submission) and is viewable on your state's derby page. The downloadable PDF file is updated 2-3 times per week depending on the number of submissions received. We will incorporate a "last updated on" to be displayed where the link/icon is located so you have the most up-to-date information on when the list was last updated.
* based on actual advertising from derby event coordinator in conjunction with IceFishingDerbys.com Ad space structured and designed to "aide" in derby awareness to anglers of the event being held.
Icefishingderbys.com is experiencing mulitple derby cancellations and/or rescheduled events due to unusual warm winter weather which various states have been experiencing. This warm weather has contributed to thinning ice conditions and ask that all anglers exercise extreme caution when venturing onto your favorite lake or pond to do some ice fishing. We recommend the following to our visitors:
• Check with local bait shops to inquire about ice thickness
• Contact the derby coordinator for alternate date(s)
• Do NOT venture onto a lake or pond alone - go with a buddy!
• Carry a cell phone with you in case of emergency
Please check with the derby/tournament you wish to attend for alternate date(s). We understand that anglers get "cabin fever" and fully empathize with you to get out on the lake or pond to start ice fishing, BUT use your head before using your auger! We want all our visitors to stay safe when venturing out and to have fun at the same time. So please exercise caution when you go out.
